Thunderbird - Making money by search partnership.

Root.cz recently published an interview with David Ascher, Mozilla Messaging CEO. While reading it I was wondering why Thunderbird is not following the foot steps of Firefox. ie making money thru search partnership.

Many times I wish there is a facility to search a postal address on an email. Here is how I usually do from a web page or a web mail, ie to see an address on Google map.

In Firefox select following address.

    1981 Landings Drive
    Building K
    Mountain View, CA 94043-0801
    USA
Then right click, and do web search in google.

The first item on search result is the location in google map. Another such instance is when I am editing a mail.

There are many words in English which has similar spelling. It really confuse people like me who is poor in spelling or those who have English as second language. It will be nice if we can confirm a word by looking it at Merriam-Webster.

So I am looking forward to see something similar to this in Thunderbird.

Now question is how to install and manage these search plugins? Installation will be simple if we can install it thru firefox, ie. in the beginning Thunderbird could just peak into search plugin folder of firefox. Later Thunderbird can add features to manage the plugins.

BTW, I have created bug 448231 at Bugzilla for this.
